Discover Brilliant Kids
Explore the vibrant world of Brilliant Kids, where learning meets fun! Our classes are designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds. Getting a glimpse into the engaging environment by checking the pictures on the right.
What do we offer?
Chinese
We offer two different Chinese language curricula. We use Jinan Zhongwen as part of our Chinese enrichment offering, as we provide in our after-school program. This class is designed for students from non-Chinese-speaking families.
Separately, we provide the 马立平中文 curriculum for Chinese-speaking families, available from Kindergarten through Grade 9. Please click on the Chinese tab for more information.
English Comprehension & Writing
We emphasize both reading comprehension and writing to help children succeed in their English studies at school. Building on this foundation, we aim to further develop their overall language skills. With guidance from experienced teachers and the support of high-quality learning materials, your child will enjoy an engaging and effective English learning experience. All our English teachers are native English speakers.
Math
We offer two Math curricula. One follows the Common Core standards and is designed to support and enhance students’ understanding of school math, helping them excel in alignment with California State standards.
In parallel, we offer the AOPS math program that ranges from introductory to intermediate levels, covering algebra, number theory, counting & probability, and geometry. This track focuses on developing strong problem-solving skills and exploring the fun and beauty of the mathematical world.
Special 4th - 5th Grade Beast Academy Math Class
This Beast Academy Math program is offered specifically for 4th–5th grade students. Beast Academy provides a fun, rigorous, and comprehensive curriculum for aspiring “math beasts.” This small-group class engages students in exploring topics such as shapes, 3D solids, exponents, fractions, expressions & equations, probability, statistics, factors & multiples, sequences, and ratios & rates. The class is taught by our highly qualified native English-speaking math teacher.
ART and Coding (See our drawings below):
Founded by educators from Carnegie Mellon University and MIT, our maker education helps children explore drawing, visual coding, 3D printing, and traditional crafts in an engaging, project-based environment.
Our teacher Mandy Shi holds a Bachelor from Tsinghua University and Master from CMU. With 10 years of experience, she specializes in blending art, hands-on programming, and real-world problem-solving to inspire young minds.
Chess:
With over 20 years of experience, Ms. Summer is a dedicated chess instructor with a proven track record of guiding students to achieve master-level success. She has founded the chess institute, which has over one thousand enrolled students. Known for her clear teaching style and deep strategic insight, she has helped nurture the growth of players to reach their potential.
